Definition :
The National Institutional Ranking Framework commonly known as NIRF is a framework that ranks various Universities & Institutions across the country. It was approved by MHRD and launched by the Honorable Minister of Human Resource Development on 29th September,2015. This government framework is mainly made to rank the institutions within the country depending upon various points and parameters.
Eligible Institutions :
Nirf ranks divide institutions in different group and ranks them depending on different parameters in their respective field. It divides Institutions in 13 different niche which are given below!
- Overall
- Universities
- Colleges
- Research Institutions
- Engineering
- Management
- Pharmacy
- Medical
- Dental
- Law
- Architecture and Planning
- Agriculture and Allied Sectors
- Innovation
Parameters :
There are some parameters on which NIRF make rank list of universities and institutions. So, the main parameters here are –
- Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR)
- Research & Professional Practice (RP)
- Graduation Outcomes (GO)
- Outreach and Inclusivity (OI)
- Peer Perception
