About TRENT Limited :
TRENT Limited was originally incorporated as Lakme Limited on December 5, 1952, focusing on manufacturing, selling, and exporting cosmetics, toiletries, and perfumery products. In 1998, the company strategically shifted from cosmetics to apparel retailing, aiming to establish a strong presence in the apparel and soft goods market across India.
Lakme acquired Littlewoods International (India) Private Limited (LIIPL) from the U.K.-based Littlewoods International Limited in March 1998 to accelerate this transition. Concurrently, Lakme Exports Limited merged with LIIPL, and the combined entity was renamed TRENT Limited effective January 1, 1998. Later, on July 1, 1998, TRENT Limited was fully amalgamated with Lakme, and the company officially adopted the name Trent Limited.
